NutriWorks LLC

I've been obsessed with my hair ever since I was a little girl.
My hair growth had a very slow start, and my hair  texture was
coarse, and very difficult to manage.  As such, I had to learn, as
an early teen, how to make the  best out of what God had given
me.

My hair journey began with learning how to press my own hair
with a hot comb, straight from the stove.  That was followed by
learning how to chemically relax my "curly knots" from the comfort of my own bathroom.  Several years, and several extension and weave sessions later, I became frustrated with the experience of my hair.  I longed to enjoy the beauty of my natural texture.  I just needed to learn how to harness it's "inner wildness".

Through my studies in nutrition, I've come to understand that the beauty and condition of the hair depends greatly on what we put on it, and what we put in it.  And this whole process is supported by the food that we eat on a regular basis.  Food and nutritional supplements nourish our hair from the inside out, while certain clays, essential oils, and herbal preparations nourish our hair from the outside in.

The Natural Nutritionista, my humble store,  is an extension of my blog, www.mycurlyknots.com, where I talk about hair health, hair nutrition, my personal experience with certain hair products, and the rationale behind why many natural and less-toxic products benefit hair health.  I only carry a few products now, but in time, I hope to carry many more.

I obtained my bachelor's degree is in Communication and Journalism from Rutgers University in 1996.  I spent nearly a decade in the pharmaceutical sales arena, before transistioning to the alternative medicine arena, as a Consultant in 2007.  I am the sole proprietor of NutriWorks LLC, my company through which I operate as a contract sales representative and Consultant in healthcare sales.  I am currently pursuing a master's degree in Human Nutrition, which I hope to finish by 2011.
